In her new music video for her lead single, 'Window Seat,' from her her sixth album, 'New Amerykah Part 2 (Return of the Ankh),' four-time Grammy Award winner Erykah Badu strips away her clothing while walking down a street on a sunny day.
The new video was directed by Creative Control duo Coodie and Chike, who most famously helmed three videos for Kanye West's debut album 'The College Drop-Out': 'Through the Wire,' 'Two Words' and 'Jesus Walks.'
According to Badu, the mother of three had intended to direct the video alone, but "after working with Coodie and Chike and bouncing thoughts, she asked them to join.
The clip was shot in the middle of downtown Dallas (where Badu resides) guerilla-style with one take, no closed set, no warning and no crew. Then, the 'On and On' singer, says she "ran like hell."
On the experience of stripping nude, the neo-soul high priestess commented, "I was petrified while shooting this video, but liberation began to set in. I conquered many fears in that few moments. I am [grateful]."

At least, she stripped with a purpose. It wasn't an attempt to appear sexy. She also achieved personal growth.."THEY FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE IN GROUPS"
I get to buy CD's again...This year is getting off to a good start...Can't listen to garbage (Garbage in Garbage out)...

you know what can you say it's Badu! If it were any one else I might think it was out there but she has always pushed the boundaries of art and made us think. That's what makes her music good and this is just another way of expressing her non typical art form. She's Badu!

I'm not a Badu Fan.. and in my book..a "Queen" doesn't set out to purposely have several children by several different males who are nothing but semen dispensors... a terrible example of moral irresponsibility set before children...its not a judgement but a fact...just look at what our children are doing today(hello philly's flash mobs)...
Badu's video is not art..its sensationalism for record sales.
I'm surprized, if this was actually video taped in Dallas-Tx as the depiction is to infer- that Badu was shot(X marks the spot on the road in the video)were JFK was shot/killed. The state of TEXAS has conservative laws with respect to what TEXAS deems as inappropiate displays of sexuality. So Texas actually allowed this depicted by Badu? To stripe naked on the streets of Dallas in front of children...even if the people were staged props for the video?

@deut818-children are a blessing from GOD no matter how they come into your life. being married does not make you a better person nor a better parent.....(F.Y.I: i have 1 child and im married to his father) SO ON AND ON TO YOU....... I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! i've been rocking this song since the day i heard it. seeing the video is going to make me rock it even harder!! i love her, she's confident & comfortable with herself. she has no boundaries. she exceeds the limit. this queen is beautiful! hell i want a window seat!
