After announcing on Monday that May 28 would be his last day as music director for 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' Kevin Eubanks has found a replacement.

According to Variety, 'American Idol,' musical director Rickey Minor has been chosen to fill Eubanks' shoes.

To allow Minor enough time to finish his role as the man behind the elaborate sing-alongs on the hit Fox reality series, he will make his 'Tonight Show' debut for the first time on Monday, June 7 after a winner is crowned on 'Idol.' He will continue to consult on 'Idol' creator Simon Fuller's various projects in the future.

Minor, who has collaborated with Ray Charles, Beyonce and Whitney Houston to name a few, said that he was "honored to be a part of 'The Tonight Show' legacy."

The Emmy Award winner is the late-night show's third musical director, behind Eubanks, and original 'Tonight Show' band leader Branford Marsalis.

In addition to penning the book, 'There's No Traffic on the Extra Mile,' the Louisiana native has served as musical director for the Grammy Awards, the NAACP Image Awards, the Super Bowl and the CBS special 'Genius: A Night for Ray Charles.'
