While 'Iron Man 2' continues to dominate at the Box Office, the film's original "Jim Rhodes/War Machine," Terrence Howard appears to have no animosity towards the comic book franchise and its cast members. The Oscar Award-nominated actor, who was replaced by Don Cheadle for the film's sequel, opened up to E! News yesterday on the flick's most recent success.
"Despite the customary idea or thought that there's some controversy, it was a wonderful split and I know that they've done well," he said during the 63rd Cannes Film Festival.
"Robert Downey Jr. was born to play that part and it was wonderful that that part has given him the stature that he was supposed to hold before."
Although the 41-year-old 'Crash' star revealed that he hasn't "had a chance" to see the Jon Favreau-directed motion picture, he did take responsibility for landing the super hero gig for Downey Jr.
"For me to have recommended him, it means all the more so that I helped someone get to where they are supposed to go," he explained. "Marvel and I are now talking about doing some other things. And Don Cheadle wanted to play that part before I wanted to play it, so everything is very well."
Aside from his 'Iron Man' cronies, Howard is set to star in the upcoming film chronicling the life and times of Nelson Mandela's ex-wife Winnie in the biopic, 'Winnie.'
Production is set to begin in South Africa May 31.
