
This year marks the Essence Music Festival's 15th Anniversary.
To commemorate the momentous occasion, the monthly African-American women's magazine has teamed with Music World Entertainment to release a CD and deluxe DVD/CD package of the top live performances from the 2009 New Orleans music event.
'The 15th Anniversary of the Essence Music Festival' includes Beyonce's headlining performance of 'Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),' En Vogue's rendition of their classic ' My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It),' and John Legend's 'Green Light,' to name a few.
Salt n' Pepa, Ne-Yo, Teena Marie, Charlie Wilson, Robin Thicke and Solange also turn up on the ten-track set.The new offering is the most expansive music collection in the history of the festival.
As previously reported, last year's festival drew a record-breaking 428,000 attendees to the Superdome over the Fourth of July weekend.
This year's Essence Music Festival will include performances from Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Trey Songz and Mary J. Blige, to name a few.
'The 15th Anniversary of the Essence Music Festival' will be released June 15 on Music World Music.
