It has been a turbulent week for 'American Idol' winner Fantasia Barrino. And it's only Wednesday.
Following a lawsuit alleging that the High Point, N.C., native is a husband-stealing home wrecker, she was rushed to the hospital for an apparent drug overdose.
Today, her manager, Brian Dickens (pictured above), released a statement on behalf of the eight-time Grammy Award nominee.
"Fantasia has always been an open book. Honesty, self-respect and personal
responsibility are values she wears proudly.
Fantasia believed Mr. Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his heart was not in it. She believed him when he told her he and Mrs. Cook separated in the late summer of 2009. She believed Mr. Cook when he told her he lived elsewhere. He even took her there. One of Mr. Cook's most redeeming qualities was his complete devotion to his children. Fantasia fell in love with Mr. Cook and believed that he loved her.
Fantasia and Mr. Cook dated on and off for about 11 months. The pressure of the
constant media attention was hard on their relationship. Fantasia gave inconsistent interviews about the status of her relationship with Mr. Cook because sometimes they were on and sometimes they were off. When they were on, they spent most of their time together when she was not traveling with work.

Fantasia read Mrs. Cook's complaint against Mr. Cook for the first time yesterday. She knows some of the allegations in Mrs. Cook's complaint are totally false. There are others she strongly doubts. There is plenty she does not know.
Fantasia is heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused. Yesterday, she was totally overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention.
Last night, Fantasia was hospitalized. She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid. Her injuries are not life-threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time.
Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon.
Fantasia is a fighter and a survivor. This is not the hardest thing Fantasia has endured. Fantasia will be stronger, smarter and better for it. Her work has always inspired her and served as a source of strength. Her new album, 'Back to Me,' will be released on August 24th.
The lyrics to 'I'm Here' say it best:
"I believe I have inside of me
Everything that I need to live a bountiful life
With all the love inside of me
I'll stand as tall as the tallest tree
And I'm thankful for each day that I'm given
Both the easy and the hard ones I'm living
But most of all
Yes, I'm thankful for lovin' who I really am"
Fantasia sends her praise to God and her eternal gratitude to her fans, friends and family. God is good."
The 911 call from Fantasia's home has been released. Listen to it here.

Just goes to show you that even if you look like a Halle Berry, Beyonce etc doesn't mean your man is gonna be faithful, if he is a dog he is gonna do whatever, whmever whith whoever the heck he wants. And as far as blaming on not blaming the other women? If she knows he is married regardless she has no class and no sense of self respect or respect for the marriage bond between two people God is the creator and originator of marriage and God don't like ugly if you intergere with that GOD HELP YOU! Your arms are too short to box with God and if you think different more power to ya.Peace! (stepping down from soap box)

I can't believe this is news. If your man cheated sue him. I don't get how all your personal news has to air because you are a celebrity. I don't care who she dates, she is single. Fault the cheater. That is the problem these days faulting the woman that your man was with. If women should be sued for being with someone elses spouse Liz Taylor would have been broke long ago. Her reputation is still in tack. Please no hate mail.
I don't condone cheaters, but when my ex cheated I left him. He is the man I married and trusted, I didn't know the women he cheated with and suing the woman as though; if he had not cheated he would have still wanted the wife. Next.. What else is in the news?

why is it these dingy woman want to sue the other woman; why not the worthless piece crap men.? Fantansia knew exactly what she was doing. Stop putting God in your mess honey, u need to get your self together for yourself and child and STOP ACTING SO DESPERATE. u have $$ and that is what men see. Suicide is not the answer. He will find another fool. Hope she gets it together. Live for yourself and your doctor not a MAN.

We have all been there. No one is immune from a broken heart.
At some time in our lives someone hurts us, or we hurt them, and we feel like rolling into a little ball on the floor in a heap of tears.
The good news is the heart does heal

C'mon people, wake up and smell the roses allready
Fantasia was set up by both the man and his wife. They planned this whole scam. Why? To sue for some easy money. F--K them. Let the wife sue the husband.

He was not separated and Fanny knew he wasn't separated when she started up with him. Give me a break. Fantasia should have left that married man alone. Should all the blame be on Fanny? Nope. But she holds some blame for her actions. The wife is the only blameless one.
Sometimes I wonder about the morality of some people.

ARE YOU PEOPLE BLIND, DEAF OR DUMB?
The wife has not sued Fantasia. She has sued her husband.
Now I see why y'all are on Fanny's bandwagon...you're illiterate too?
