In the midst of Fantasia Barrino's much talked about scandal with Antwaun Cook, many questions remain unanswered regarding the mysterious man in the center of the controversy.Well, new details were uncovered about the proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, who is also the father of two young boys.
Prior to the season three 'American Idol' winner meeting him at a Charlotte-area T-Mobile store, where he was reportedly employed, Cook held a career in real estate in which he pursued in 2003.
"I grew an interest in real estate originally from the investing side, and have continued in real estate from many different angles for the last seven years," the East Carolina University graduate allegedly wrote to potential clients on his Keller Williams Realty website. "I attained my real estate license in 2006, which allows me to share the knowledge from my own 'good' and 'interesting' experiences of the home buying and selling process."
"Being that I have researched and purchased my own investment properties it makes me knowledgeable in the many facets of the process," Cook continued. "Allow me to help you with selling your home and finding your dream home," he offered.
Cook's self-proclaimed "high integrity" and customer service expertise may have translated well to helping Fantasia fulfill her mobile communication needs.
But despite the platinum-selling singer admitting to having a romantic affair with Cook since 2009, she also maintains in believing he was separated from his estranged wife, Paula Cook.
Unfortunately, he wasn't being as transparent as Barrino, 26, had initially thought. On Aug. 4, the missus filed for divorce, detailing in court documents that the singer engaged in an lurid affair with her husband and even "recorded" several of their sexual encounters.
The wife is seeking child custody, alimony and other monetary support, according to court documents filed in Mecklenburg County District Court in the Charlotte area.
The whirlwind of events not only reportedly came as a shock to Fantasia but also "overwhelmed" her, according to her manager Brian Dickens.
The scandalous ordeal, which became a top story in the mainstream media, eventually landed 'The Color Purple' star in hospital Aug. 10 due to an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid.
She was released from a North Carolina hospital on Aug. 12.
"She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans," Dickens -- a former Washington Court Hotel front desk attendant -- said in a statement. "She is more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration."
Though Fantasia and Cook have apparently called their affair off, it appears that they staged a reunion of sorts. Photos of the two surfaced online Aug. 13 showing the couple outside of Barrino's North Carolina home the day before -- with a camera crew in tow. Though a VH1 insider denies that the crew was there filming the finale of the reality show 'Fantasia For Real,' some believe that it was staged to boost ratings.
"Their relationship has been really off and on in recent times so we will just have to wait and see how things will pan out," a source told the website Radar Online. "Fantasia has plenty of people looking after her right now, and the most important thing is that she does not have too much pressure or stress."

This whole affair thing with Fantasia is really a joke.Look don't fill sorry for the kids because their daddy didn't feel sorry when he laid with her.The one thing people seems to forget is that married people likes to play with single people. Now seems to me if they are out there in that single world enviroment telling lies just to get away from the family for whatever reason then later on end up in bed with the other woman what do you really think is going to happen. Why is it always the other woman fault? So to all of the wives out there if you think that your man is cheating he probably is,take it out on him because sooner or later you're going to end up in the single world again.

I don't think that people support Fantasia for what happened between her and this guy but because we think she was lied to about the status of the relationship at its start. By the time she found
out that the guy was not separated, she may have already been caught up with her heart involved. For that, she was wrong because she should have stopped it. I think that any support Fantasia has garnered will come from her supporters believing that this man is a liar, not only to her but his wife AND kids as well. Look at all the trouble he caused by not simply saying he was not interested until his divorce was final, if that ever were to happen.
At the end of the day, it is a f'd up situation for all the parties involved.

Well, if Antwaun Cook is an adulterous lover, then what does that also make Fantasia? Last time that I checked It still take two to tango! Believe, me she knew that he was a married man, but obviously that wasn't an issue! Let's, be honest here she's not all that intelligent in the first place! She's little more than the usual ghetto "Chicken Head" that had the usual OOW baby, had some marketable talent, got lucky, then blew it! Her story isn't a new one, and had she had any sense (or anyone in her family) ....which apparently she didn't she would have managed her money better! That condition is more commonly referred to a "group ignorance"!

Black women always want to blame black men for their usual "bad life choice"! Why isn't anyone here talking about Fantasia's poor judgement, or her failure to be accountable? Same old tired blame game by black women!

Eric, the next time you have a thought...DON'T. Same old tired game? Please, how about same old tired lies, by a typical black man who thinks the grass is greener on the other side.
HE's the married one, not she and maybe she should have cut it short when she found out, but he probably found some more lies to feed her and since women WANT to believe men sometimes, she fell for it...hook, line, and sinker.
Why should we feel sorry for his wife? He didn't give a dayum about her, why should we?
Now I think if Fantaisa knew he was married, then the suit is justified, because she should have known better, but if she didn't because he lied, and you know you men will lie even if the truth is sitting next to you, then the suit is not justifyed and the wife should leave him.
Now if you personally think of all black women as "tired"....let me say this, you are what you attract. If that is all you are attracting, maybe YOU need to check yourself and regroup.
If you feel the need to jump ship, by all means do so....that will be one less ignorant "brotha" we have to deal with.

I understand what most of you is saying, however, it is very hard to be a black woman now days, it's really not many of our men left to go around that is worth talking to, (Prison, Just not trying to Working or maybe can't get a job because of a criminal record, Gay, Other Race Relationships, murdered, etc). I know of many, many successful beautiful young black women that is single, and the ones that are not single, are usually in a relationship such as Fantasia's, who was even willing date beneath her own financial standards, to have a supposedly good man . "COME ON PEOPLE, TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT OUR BLACK MALE STATISTICS. ITS REAL." I've been married to a wonderful man that has taken good care of me in many ways for years, but, we may just may have to learn to share. Any other suggestions?

Well, perhaps you live under a rock or something, but FYI it's hard for all black people these days. not just black women! So, please get it straight, and stop trying to always play the victims! And, also regarding employment "if you haven't heard" is hard for just about everybody! As. for prison, okay I will agree that there is a disproportional amount of BM incarcerated, but perhaps you didn't realize, or care to know is that for "all' women in US prisons 57% are black women! That's a fact! So, why should anyone be at all surprised to see that their sons, grandsons are also following suit? Now, it makes more sense why so many black go to jail in the first place!

I'm from Louisiana, and single men seem to outnumber women around here. So where are you from? Maybe I'll move there.

The latest from T*M*Z is that they are "talking" and while they were talking the cameras were rolling for her TV show. So the suicide may have been a fake....or a cry for attention on her part...but she never meant to kill herself.
He's a college grad, has a teacher wife and two kids...the perfect home....was he bored with married life? Or looking for another opportunity when he met Fantasia?
In any event, I believe her that he "lied" and she thought he was divorced or separated, which wasn't the case. Stuff happens.
