In the midst of Fantasia Barrino's much talked about scandal with Antwaun Cook, many questions remain unanswered regarding the mysterious man in the center of the controversy.Well, new details were uncovered about the proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, who is also the father of two young boys.
Prior to the season three 'American Idol' winner meeting him at a Charlotte-area T-Mobile store, where he was reportedly employed, Cook held a career in real estate in which he pursued in 2003.
"I grew an interest in real estate originally from the investing side, and have continued in real estate from many different angles for the last seven years," the East Carolina University graduate allegedly wrote to potential clients on his Keller Williams Realty website. "I attained my real estate license in 2006, which allows me to share the knowledge from my own 'good' and 'interesting' experiences of the home buying and selling process."
"Being that I have researched and purchased my own investment properties it makes me knowledgeable in the many facets of the process," Cook continued. "Allow me to help you with selling your home and finding your dream home," he offered.
Cook's self-proclaimed "high integrity" and customer service expertise may have translated well to helping Fantasia fulfill her mobile communication needs.
But despite the platinum-selling singer admitting to having a romantic affair with Cook since 2009, she also maintains in believing he was separated from his estranged wife, Paula Cook.
Unfortunately, he wasn't being as transparent as Barrino, 26, had initially thought. On Aug. 4, the missus filed for divorce, detailing in court documents that the singer engaged in an lurid affair with her husband and even "recorded" several of their sexual encounters.
The wife is seeking child custody, alimony and other monetary support, according to court documents filed in Mecklenburg County District Court in the Charlotte area.
The whirlwind of events not only reportedly came as a shock to Fantasia but also "overwhelmed" her, according to her manager Brian Dickens.
The scandalous ordeal, which became a top story in the mainstream media, eventually landed 'The Color Purple' star in hospital Aug. 10 due to an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid.
She was released from a North Carolina hospital on Aug. 12.
"She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans," Dickens -- a former Washington Court Hotel front desk attendant -- said in a statement. "She is more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration."
Though Fantasia and Cook have apparently called their affair off, it appears that they staged a reunion of sorts. Photos of the two surfaced online Aug. 13 showing the couple outside of Barrino's North Carolina home the day before -- with a camera crew in tow. Though a VH1 insider denies that the crew was there filming the finale of the reality show 'Fantasia For Real,' some believe that it was staged to boost ratings.
"Their relationship has been really off and on in recent times so we will just have to wait and see how things will pan out," a source told the website Radar Online. "Fantasia has plenty of people looking after her right now, and the most important thing is that she does not have too much pressure or stress."

I agree about the wife. If her husband was with someone with No money, you wouldn't hear about this. I think the man was using Fantasia, also. Whose to say he won't get back with his wife and now they will be rich.

How old is boyfriend? If he is older than 30 then he's just a married gigolo. The real estate business has been on the downswing for several years now and he had become accustomed to a certain lifestyle and Fantasia was able to provide that lifestyle for him and she also gave him BENEFITS. She is young and foolish and also gave that man her heart which he broke. I'm kind of glad he at least had the decency to come see her after she was hospitaized instead of going into hiding after all the bad publicity.

His real estate bio doesn't even mention his WIFE!!
It mentions his college, frat, kids and football but not his WIFE!!!

First of all Antwaun should have been truthful in the beginning about his marital situation. Fantasia let poor judgement overwhelm her. When everything hit the fan she couldnot handle it. I don't think she should have tried to harm herself. It was not good to go that route. Ladies should stay away from men no matter how good they look who lie and cheat. Because they will do the same to someone else in the end. I feel for Fantasia she had a concious. I hope she learned a good lesson from this drama. I still love you Fantash and so does God. Keep your head held High.

This situation is sad in the sense that it shows that so many in the world just don't have any standards that they live by. Anyone that chooses to get involved with a married person, is just delusional and doesn't have very much self respect. The person is showing you up front what wedding vows mean to him/her. If they'll fool around on their spouse, they'll fool around on you! There are too many options out there to be involved with a seperated person. Only a fool would put themselves in a position to be hurt by doing so. Just because someone is an entertainer - that doesn't mean a thing except that - that's what they do for a living. There are plenty of people in Hollywood with low self esteem and questionable judgement skills. This young lady is not alone. It's like going to a restaurant - you would think that someone would want something freshly prepared - not a half eaten plate that a diner just left on a table....

Lookin' at this pic, hell he ain't even as fine as I thought he was. Anyway...I'm sure we can all agree that if she didn't know from the beginning, once she found out his lyin' ass was married she should have backed off yes? However she didn't do that, instead she continued with the affair and even went so far as to gloat and/or taunt his wife on the phone about not being able to keep her man. What they have done is deplorable. And if she didn't know from the start he had a wife and kids it stopped being that 'mistake' (that so many people keep sayin') and in turn was a dispicable decision/choice to do wrong. I think as long as she is able to produce records as additional punishment she should be made to sing Shirley Murdock's song Husband at her concerts for the rest of her life. His ass shouldn't get a pass either, there should be a big ass bill board in whatever town he lives in with his face on it with the word cheater splashed across it. That oughta teach them!

I can't say I know exactly what happened in this matter. But I can say a few things that make sense to me. Had Mr. Cook had his ass at home with his wife none of this drama would be going on. More than likely he was lying to both women. Fantasia didn't stand in a church and marry Mr. Cook's wife; Mr. Cook did. And ultimately he is responsible for his behavior and his conduct in his marriage. He seems to be another dog running the streets trying to have his cake and eat it too. If the situation with his wife was so bad get a divorce before dragging someone else into a situation like this. As far as Fantasia goes hopefully she has learned a really important lesson. First of all when you are famous and people think you have a little money hell yes they are going to try to get to you. You have to be careful about how you conduct your business especially in matters of the heart. She has the money to check these dudes out and make sure that what they are telling her is correct. You just don't believe what some asshole is telling you when you have the kind of career she does. Have a detective check out that story about him being separated from his wife. That way the right decisions can be made. Fantasia needs to wise up and realize she is not in the little leagues anymore. She is a grown woman with the potential to make a lot of money; time to stop the drama and be smart.
