As previously reported, 'American Idol' winner Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized for a highly publicized suicide attempt on Aug. 9. The eight-time Grammy Award nominee was reportedly found unconscious and bleeding after taking a bottle of aspirin and a sleeping aid.
But she's not letting that keep her from promoting her upcoming album, 'Back to Me.'
In a statement released from her record label, J Records, the 26 year-old singer said, "I can't thank my fans enough for their prayers and support during such a challenging time."
'The Color Purple' Broadway star added,"It has given me the motivation to get back to work. ...I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this album, and I pray that everyone enjoys it as much as I do."
Barrino's new album, 'Back to Me,' will be released on Aug. 24. The 'Free Yourself' singer is forging ahead with several notable television appearances, including a high-profile performance on 'Good Morning America.'
The second season of her hit VH1 reality series, 'Fantasia for Real,' will premiere on Sept.19.
Earlier this week, pictures leaked on the Web of Barrino's rumored married boyfriend, Antwaun Cook, moving out of his North Carolina home. Cook's wife, Paula, has allegedly filed for divorce following allegations that her husband has been romantically involved and even has a sex tape with Barrino.
Pictures also leaked just days after Barrino's release from the hospital of her and Cook having a talk in a North Carolina park.

I am totally convinced that Fantastia was set up by the Cooks. How did the wife get the video? What married man is willing to be seen in public with the other woman all the time? Why isn't he speaking up in her behalf? They sat her up so that they could sue her then live off of her money happily everafter. That's cool too, because God has a plan for people like THE COOKS

I'm not judging, this lady, but why is it,FIRST, of all i know she is looking for love,but things just keep happening to her,maybe she should FOCUS,on her child,career,getting back in school, something just not correct here. All the yes ppls are always there,someone tell her the truth,LOOK at Mary J.B,she is beautiful,wonderful woman.She was a train wreck, look at prayer,i'm praying for you, Fantasia.Don't date now, work on yourself first, u are still young!Just my thoughts.Love u B/V.

I'm sorry this had happened to her and pray that she gets help to a good recovery and also be there for her daughter mentally and physically. It's just a shame that she knew that this man was still married and should have waited until his divorce with wife? She shouldn't have gotten involved first of all. She is supposed to be Christian and a role model for her daughter? She wasn't thinking about her daughter on how she would have taken it if God forbid if she didn't make it? She couldn't handle the truth and this was her way of escaping instead of asking God to help her out of this mess? I hope she takes a break and get the help she needs before doing any Broadway musicals, movies, reality shows, tours, ect... I pray for her and family that she will never get caught up in these situations again. It is not worth your LIFE! AMEN!

I have prayed for you Fantasia and all that is affected by this situation. I am a wife that have been through infidelity from my husband. Looking at this from both sides, the other woman has all the power,when you learn of a man being married, and he feeds you all the info of getting divorced, not loving his wife anymore, she don't understand him, yada,yada,yada. She should walk. Stop it right there!! Let him get it 2gether first.. This is what happens when the other woman thinks she's number one. This is a lesson learned, and forgiveness is what Fantasia should ask for.

First ask GOD for his forgiveness, on that latest relationship AND ATEMPTED SUCIDE, IF THAT IS WHAT IT IS, , I was married and my husband cheated on me, TRUST ME NO BLESSING COMES WHEN YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH A MARRIED MAN, IT ONLY GETS WORST AND IT SHOWS BAD CHACRATER ON YOUR PART AND LOW SELF ESTEEM.DO YOU REALLY WANT SLOOPY SECONDS? Fantasia, get real... you have made hundreds of thousands of dollars...why waste it on a T-mobile retail worker who is only out to spend your money, get all that he can and move on to the next dummy. Now his wife is going to sue you. In reality is the sex really worth losing it all?
