T.I. recently announced that he was pushing back his eighth studio album, 'King Uncaged,' from its original August release date to Sept. 28.The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, is currently promoting the film 'Takers' but said he has no plans to halt his music career anytime soon.
"I'm gonna do both for the moment, until one of them presents itself as the domineering factor," he told the Blackvoices.com's very own Wilson Morales while promoting the Will Packer-produced action flick, which opens this weekend.
In addition to listening to Kanye West, Drake, Eminem and his Grand Hustle artist B.O.B., the 'Whatever You Like' lyricist said he's spending a lot of his time narrowing down what songs he wants to put on his new album.
"I've been listening to myself more than anything lately, just given that I'm in the process of narrowing down my 100-something songs to 14," T.I. said.
These days, letting fans in on the man that he is today is a major priority of his.
On Aug. 24, the self-proclaimed "King of the South" taped his 'VH1 Storytellers' special at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.
At the start of the night, he told the intimate crowd, "This is my life, my story. I lived through these things [and] these people you hear me name, these are real people in my life," which set the tone for the Grammy Award winner to share a different side of himself.
T.I., who recently tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, performed two never-before-performed-live songs, 'Still Ain't Forgave Myself' and 'I Still Love You.' He said he never had "the proper stage and proper venue" to share the intimate song 'Still Ain't Forgave Myself,' which chronicles his relationship with his late father and the mother of his two sons.
In stark contrast to his Axe-sponsored celebrity-studded show one week prior at New York's posh Capitale, T.I. brought out no special guests. Instead, he was backed by a small band and his Grand Hustle artists, which included Fantasia Barrino's brother, Ricco Barrino, on vocals.
The show, which originally was set to premiere in September but has been pushed back to December, signifies one of the first times that fans of the Atlanta native will see a more personal side of the rap icon, who has had trouble with the law and bounced back to capture several chart-topping singles.
'Storytellers' will also include performances of some of his hits, like 'Rubber Band Man,' 'Live Your Live,' 'Whatever You Like' and 'Dead and Gone.'
'VH1 Storytellers: T.I.' is set to premiere Dec. 10 at 11:00 p.m.
T.I.'s is also currently promoting his single 'Got Your Back,' which features Keri Hilson.

What is the travesty is T.I. does not get it. This young man has the necessary talents plus he has shown a willingness to embrace his out neighborhood. However, his "ill" mentality of still desiring criminal activities is indicative of why things remain the same in America. If the ones with the necessary talents do not change their mentalities, how can we ever expect us, Africans in America, can ever remedy the wrongs of America? Secondly, how can we have justice in America, when the ones with the necessary talents, receive sweetheart deals when they transgress against the law {understanding I know Caucasian Americans get sweetheart deals on the regular}? I wish the young man the best but I think he represents a bigger picture/problem?

Just as dawn gradually changes night into day, so too does a shocking recession give way to inward contemplation, a chance to reexamine our lives and priorities as we grapple with the blind excess of the past.utah leather
