The spinoff series of 'Army Wives' that had actress Gabrielle Union in one of the lead roles has been rejected by Lifetime TV, reports Deadline.com.
The site states that the spinoff, starring Brigid Brannagh and Union as Atlanta detectives, got a lot of attention recently following its story about 'Wives' executive producer Mark Gordon's use of racial slur during the backdoor pilot's table read.
In an episode that aired recently, 'Wives' regular Pamela Moran (played by Brannagh) returns to her career as a police officer and is promoted to a detective with the Atlanta Police Department. Union was playing her partner, Detective Gina Holt.

Union was last seen in a supportive role on ABC's recently canceled series, 'FlashForward.' The Nebraska native also appeared the short-lived series 'Life,' 'Night Stalker' and 'City of Angels.'

I love Army Wives. I look forward to this show each season. Please keep it running, all year long would be nice. I like the fact they are all good friends and stick together.

Please DO NOT take Army Wives off. I have enjoyed every episode and can't wait for the next one. If men think it is too "soapy", then let them watch the NUMEROUS sports and reality shows. I am sick of shows that are supposed to be real. Do you honestly think all of those scenes are done in one "take" and are real? I don't mind sports, but I watch TV to escape reality. Army Wives is a really good show and deserves several more years.

Both shows should be able to co-exist on lifetime network. I don't think there's a show like this spin-off already on any network, so it should've been giving a chance. Hopefully, the network will rethink this rejection.
