Working in television is finally paying off for two of Hollywood's sexiest brothers.

NBC has just announced that its action-packed series 'The Event,' which features Blair Underwood as President Elias Martinez, and the latest 'Law & Order' franchise, 'Law & Order: Los Angeles,' starring Terrence Howard as senior deputy district attorney Joe Dekker, have both been picked up for full seasons."We are pleased with the quality of 'The Event' [and] 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' and feel they are an important part of helping to rebuild our schedule and our studio pipeline," said Angela Bromstad, president of the network's Primetime Entertainment.

'The Event' has grossed 9.1 million viewers. The drama has given the network a 30 percent improvement in the time period compared with one year prior. 'The Event' has also been licensed to be shown in nearly 200 territories internationally even before its U.S. premiere.

'Law & Order: Los Angeles' is pulling in 8.7 million viewers and has delivered a 39 percent improvement in the time period compared to this time last year.

"We believe in these new series and the creative auspices behind them,' Bromstad continued.

Underwood got his television start in the 1980s with a regular role on the soap opera 'One Life to Live' and later in the drama 'L.A. Law.' More recently, the NAACP Image Award winner was seen in the short-lived 'Dirty Sexy Money' and 'The New Adventures of Old Christine,' as well as in a notable recurring role on the HBO hit 'Sex and the City,' playing Miranda's neighbor and love interest. He also starred in an ill-fated NBC drama series 'LAX,' alongside Heather Locklear.

And before Howard made a name for himself in Hollywood with star turns in 'Hustle & Flow,' 'Crash' and 'Iron Man,' the Academy Award nominee appeared on the small screen in bit roles in 'Living Single,' 'NYPD Blue' and 'Soul Food' and also in the UPN series 'Sparks.'

NBC has also picked up the comedy 'Outsourced' for a full season.
