Earlier this week BV Newswire reported on Kanye West's new controversial album cover, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.' Since the 'Power' rapper posted the artwork via Twitter and denounced retailers for its ban in the US, many have speculated whether or not the rapper is creating a buzz in anticipation of its Nov. 22 release.
In spite of West's claims, a Wal-mart spokesperson has released a statement combating the Grammy Award-winner's allegations.
"We're excited about Kanye West's new album and we look forward to carrying it in our stores on November 22nd," the spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly magazine. "As always, it's our standard practice to carry the edited parental advisory version. We did not reject the cover artwork and it was never presented to us to view."

The style icon tweeted on Sunday evening that he "really don't be thinking about Wal-mart when I make my music or album covers," adding "I wanna sell albums but not at the expense of my true creativity."
While some think that this may be the notorious speech intruder's latest rant could be a dubious publicity stunt, one industry insider believes that West's proven track record is enough to uphold the rapper's decision to release music that he's passionate about.
"Since Wal-mart has refuted the claim that they were banning Kanye's album cover, it leads me to believe that he might have had a miscommunication with his record label or management team," noted music journalist Shaheem Reid. "I don't think Kanye would blatantly lie to create hype about the LP. He doesn't need to."
"Ye is coming off two high profile, highly praised performances at the VMAs and Saturday Night Live," Reid continued. "He's also released a slew of lauded songs in advance of the project. The anticipation for the album is extremely palpable and kinetic strictly based on his talent and esteemed track record."

Yes I do think it should be banned. Come on a "Family Oriented" store like "Walmart"? Even though there is a "Advisory" on the Album cover itself, it's still inappropriate and offensive placed in stores like Walmart. Now, if it was a Record Store, ect... there should be a special section for "Explicit" Album Covers and Music so young kids or anybody who don't want to see. Someone needs to BAN KANYE'S MUSIC PERIOD. He thinks that his music and album covers are "Priority"! The man lost his DAMN MIND! I don't get his music anymore or his actions? Kanye is in a class by himself and I'm sure it's LONELY! Soon, after his mother died, he has been going on the wrong path and I'm sure, if Kanye's Mother was living now, she wouldn't have APPROVED!

He's one of the most un-grateful artists I can think of....he should be thankful for his talent, that his music is being played and he has money....he's just ungrateful.

I don't want my daughter walkin around Wal-Mart and run into this. But I should be able to buy it. Remember back in the day when they had all the parental advisory tapes were behind the counter. It like we backwards in controlling how easy it is for minors to be able to purchase explicit material.
Go vote Nov. 2. Keep the democrats in control of Congress. The republicans want the middle class to disappear. We'll be growing our own food cause thats all we will be able to afford with all our jobs being sent overseas for greater corporate profits. Vote democratic Nov. 2 to keep control of Congress Scrappy Rap

Kanye is a joke. His HORRENDOUS performance at the VMA's was a joke. Whoever told him he could sing needs a reality check. This is the end of his career. Obivoulsly. This latest attempt at garnering sympathy for his so-called artistry proves that. Instead of trying to come clean, be considerably more respectable leave with some dignity, he chooses this farce. How does anyone still listen to him? He's got a serious God complex and he's not at all remorseful about any of his past behaviour towards other artists. Why can't he simply APOLOGIZE instead of writing a single he can sell to make even more money off his pathetic actions? Why do we keep falling for this. He's no artist. He's an opportunist with a good PR firm.

This wouldn't be the 1st time an album cover was banned. It happened to both the Beatles and Blind Faith in the 60s. Both times the albums were released with less controversial covers.
