Nick Cannon and his superstar wife, Mariah Carey, have kept coy about the details of their pregnancy from the start. The couple has disclosed that they don't yet know the sex of their baby. Now, the 'Drumline' star has officially told the world the good news: Mimi is pregnant with twins.
Today Cannon went on his morning radio show and announced that the couple is expecting multiples. People.com is reporting that his Grammy Award-winning wife told the good news to President Barack Obama.
The news comes just one day after Canon attended a Toys for Tots Foundation benefit at a Build-a-Bear Workshop and hinted the good news by saying he's thankful for "the new additions to his family."
He also used the plural of babies when referring to his firstborn. The comedian-rapper-radio personality told E! News, "My wife, at one time, referred to her stomach as 'they' and that probably wasn't the wrong thing for her to do. That's all I'm going to say."
This isn't the first time that the rumor mill has buzzed that the couple was expecting twins. The best-selling singer initially referred to her baby bump as "they."
Cannon previously refuted the rumors to Us Weekly awhile back, saying, "That rumor started because she said something about 'they'...something like, 'I hope they don't hate Christmas,' but she was using the world 'they' as in 'he' and 'she.'"
During an appearance on the 'Today' show, Carey said she is due this spring.

why would it be such a surprise if they were infact expecting twins they're more common in older mothers. give them a break they have both wanted children for a long time and have already struggled through the loss of one. and at one point they didn't know if they were going to try again so if she is having twins that's double the gift and we should be congratulating them not nit picking

Did I miss something? Where is the 'nit picking'?
I am not a fan of either of them, but I wish them the best with their children.

I agree Justifyed. I wish them both the best, but I do think this is just another marketing scam, not saying that they are not going to have twins. I just think its to get all the news outlets talking to put them in the spotlight and then when the kid or kids are born the pics will go for 10 billion a pop.

I thought for a long time that she was having twins...she looks so cute pregnant. With all of the complications that older mothers have to contend with, I do wish her the best.
Prayers for some healthy babies, and a blessed marriage. I honestly hope that they are in that group of Hollywood couples that DO make it.

I think that they are an adorable couple and I am happy for their happiness. Twins are great, but it is in keeping with the engineered pregnancies that are common in the world today. Everyone wants twins to get having the two kids over with. I guess that's wise.

LOL...if I had, had twins (or any set of multiples for that matter)....I would DEMAND that my tubes be tied! LOL
We were skurred for a long time, I am a fraternal twin, I have a brother and sister who are twins, and my grandfather was a twin. Ironically, neither myself, nor my siblings, nor my first cousins have had twins, so we are thinking it must be the next generation that will have them, but so far...none.
MUCH respect to the parents of multiples...I KNOW we ran my mom crazy! LOL
