2010 was filled with notable music releases from some of today's biggest names, including Drake, Kanye West and Keyshia Cole. Some of our favorites hip-hop stars -- such as Nas and Lupe Fiasco -- had their albums pushed back by their labels much to the dismay of fans.
And artists such as Jill Scott, Lil Wayne and Beyonce are rumored to be in the lab cooking up new music. BlackVoices.com takes a look at (and makes some predictions about) which artists will produce 2011's biggest albums.

25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Beyonce
Album Title: Untitled
What's the Hype: Everything Beyonce Knowles does is thoughtfully planned out, so it's a bit surprising that one of pop music's biggest names has been mum on details of a follow up to 'I Am...Yours.' Still, she's been bubbling under the radar, turning up alongside hubby Jay-Z to perform 'Forever Young' and also showing up at one of Kanye West's 'Good Friday' joints over the summer. B also edited and directed her platinum-certified concert DVD. The singer and actress turns 30 this year and given rumors she hit the studio in 2010, we're hoping she's planning to celebrate in a big way -- with more infectious No. 1 singles.
25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Raheem DeVaughn
Album Title: 'A Place Called Loveland'
What's the Hype: Talking about love still comes easy to this Newark, N.J., native. Following his much talked about erotic music video, 'She's Single,' Raheem is in high demand amongst the ladies. We're hoping his fourth offering is the album that solidifies him as a force to be reckoned with.
25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Jill Scott
Album Title: 'The Light of the Sun'
What's the Hype: She's got a new baby and a "bad mama jamma" attitude to go with it. Jilly from Philly is taking a step away from her acting career to get back to her first love – music. We're excited to see how her highs and lows in love have influenced her songwriting this go 'round.
25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Lil' Kim
Album Title: Untitled
What's the Hype: In recent years, the Queen B had been keeping a low profile, but all that changed in 2010. The Brooklyn-born MC got wind of Nicki Minaj's diss track and let the rap newcomer know that she's still not one to mess with. We're expecting big things from Lil' Kim in 2011.
25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Mary J Blige
Album Title: Untitled
What's the Hype: The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul decided against releasing an album this holiday season. Instead the Carol's Daughter spokesperson has been concentrating on her business ventures, including a fragrance and a new line of sunglasses. But don't expect MJB to stay away from the Billboard charts for too long. She's busy working with Swizz Beatz on a new project.
25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Nas
Album Title: 'Lost Tapes 2'
What's the Hype: 2010 was filled with stories of Nas being in and out of court battling over child and spousal support with his estranged wife, Kelis. Nas wrote a scathing e-mail in October about his disdain for Def Jam record label executives, who he says stalled the follow up to his cult classic 'Lost Tapes.' Now Nas says he's going to release 'Lost Tapes' as a deluxe edition to his next album, which, according to the Queensbridge MC, may or may not be released on Def Jam.
25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Chris Brown
Album Title: 'F.A.M.E.'
What's the Hype: It's clear that Chris Brown is destined to reclaim his position as one of R&B music's leading men. That could happen if Brown would stop being his own worst enemy. With three 2011 Grammy Award nominations, a notable comeback tribute performance to Michael Jackson on last year's 'BET Awards' and one of 2010's hottest remixes ('Deuces'), the Virginia native has fans eagerly anticipating his new album, which is shaping up to be a double disc.
25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Drake
Album Title: 'Take Care'
What's the Hype: Drake is wasting no time getting his sophomore set to the masses. The Young Money rapper is hoping for a March or April release and has already confirmed that he's in the studio with 9th Wonder and Q-Tip. Drake is also set to finalize a collaboration project with Lil' Wayne in 2011.
25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011
Janet Jackson
Album Title: Untitled
What's the Hype: Janet's been busy tearing up the big screen in 'For Colored Girls' and completing her first book, 'True You.' But we'd love to see her sharing her soul with some new music. Luckily for us, she's missing her fans: Janet announced in November that she'd be kicking off a world tour to celebrate her 35 No. 1 singles by performing the tracks in an intimate setting in 35 cities that her fans will select.

What a shame to actually see the "hotly anticipated" albums. There are only a couple of true musicians in the list. Most of those mentioned simply sample tracks of music written and performed by true musicians. I don't see any great representation of Jazz, or classic music. Pop, rap and hip hop aren't going to be the future collectibles that our past Jazz, Blues, and Vocal masters have been. They will still be swept aside by musicians and performers from the past. Isn't it time for a new music revolution?

I'm sorry but do you people ever get tired of saying the same things over and over again? Whenever there is a topic about current music, you get this same whining post complaining about how terrible music is today. Is someome holding a gun to your head and forcing you to listen to today's music? Aren't you aware that there are entire radio stations (online as well) dedicated to oldies, classic soul, neo soul, Jazz, Blues and so forth? Are you aware that you can walk into any store that sells music (or Itunes for that matter) and buy the music that you prefer?
Must you continue to whine about someothing you can not change? I find it so easy to listen to what I like and support the artist I like. I don't understand why so many have you find it so difficult. Do you want everything given to you, can't you do anything for yourself? Stop whining and listen to what you like and support the artist you like. I'm sick of seeing the same crybaby messages over and over again.
