I agree with you. And it is a shame the way our (Black) race thinks we need to "adapt" or change our natural looks. I was talking to a woman yesterday that complemented my hairstyle - I have locs. She went on to tell me that she was thinking about twisting up her hair as well. Then she said she was afraid of how her boyfriend would look at her with a "nappy head". This is ridiculous. Why this woman is ashamed of the way her natural hair grows is not surprising. After years of using chemicals to straighten my hair, all the while damaging it, I finally decided that my natural hair is not "bad" hair. It is actually healthier and longer. I just think we are way off in terms of our self pride and I hope we realize it soon as a people.
