From the Huffington Post:
Oprah Winfrey wiped away tears as celebrity after celebrity surprised her during a farewell double-episode taping of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that will precede her finale.
"Thank you is not enough, but thank you," Winfrey told the crowd of 13,000 gathered at Chicago's United Center on Tuesday night for "Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular." "For your love and your support, thank you."
The crowd gave Winfrey a standing ovation when she first walked on the stage. Then the stars came out, with Winfrey's producers making good on their promise of the biggest celebrities of movies, music and television.
Aretha Franklin sang "Amazing Grace." Tom Hanks acted as host for the evening. Michael Jordan, who led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships during the 1990s, told Winfrey she inspires him. Tom Cruise, famous for his couch jumping on Winfrey's show, was there. Jerry Seinfeld wore a tuxedo to give a comedy routine. And Madonna said she is among the millions of people who are inspired by Winfrey.
"She fights for things she believes in, even if it makes her unpopular," Madonna said.

Ophrah looks beautiful. I love that dress. I can't wait to see the next week the Finale. I just can't believe that Oprah would have the Smith Family on for the last episode of the Finale? I watched on different shows like ET the clip with Jada Smith telling Oprah "Even though she doesn't have any kids, she is like a mother to all"? Why would she make a personal comment like that and a stupid one? Jada's words to me were not heart felt, but ignorant, and it seemed that she was just saying stuff just to get attention for her and the Smith Family? Acknowledging Oprah not having any kids, was very insensitive. I bet all her words to her were like that all through the taping of the Finale? I'm sure the Smith's are all loving it, being the last guest on the Finale? Meanwhile, I am not feeling it at all?

@Dime-Normally I'm right with you but on this one I disagree. Someone on another chat board took a cheap shot at Oprah not having kids and choosing success. Just like with Willow saying "Yeah girl" to Oprah (which my daughters said was out of line and they wouldn't have said) I think The Smiths have a personal relationship with Oprah. Maybe Oprah expressed to Jada why she doesn't have kids which will stay private and Jada was making her feel appreciated. Being a mother is the greatest gift God gave me. That's why B more is broken a 16yr old NC honor roll student Phylicia Barnes was found floating in a MD river!
I remember Oprah said on Behind the Scenes (which I LOVE) "I don't betray trusts with the people who share their secrets or assume I can take advantage of that relationship!" I remember how worried Oprah was Lady Di would be upset she sneaked Billy Dee in for a surprise.
I don't know The Smiths personally but they have donated a lot of money to my daughter's former school (Jada is an alum) and education is my thing. I might not agree with how they're raising their kids in the entertainment biz but purposely insult Oprah...I doubt it!
See you on OWN Lady O! Get more happy shows plz....

That's ok. I guess, I am feeling some kind of way towards the family becuase of how they are exposed in the media? I just seen a short clip from the Finale? I took it that way? I will wait, until the Finale comes on next week to hear what more Ms. Jada, has to say about Lady O. That is nice to hear, that the Smith's have donated to your daughter's school. That is "Positive" but what I always hear and see in the media about them is nothing but "Negativity". I can't wait to see next week. Lady O has a lot of good people on her show. What a good way to go out. Have a good day!
PEACE :-)

Oprah Winfrey has been and will always be an inspirational person in the lives of many people. I love Oprah Winfrey. Even though I have not had the opportunity of seeing her in person, I have always watched Oprah @ 4pm on television since she first appeared on tv. She is a beautiful, wonderful person and most of all a leader of all people, regardless of your color, creed or character. She is irreplaceable, no one crosses over her. She is thee music of my soul. I will continue to watch OWN, and can't wait to see what's next. Love you much, OPRAH!!

@Dime-Have you checked out how Beyonce's song and stupid video is tanking on the charts and NOW Essence wants to ask "Did she go to far?" Please if this horrible song was a hit they would be overhyping it like it always does. I wonder did Mrs. Obama tell this air head to shout out college sistas? She never cared about them in all her other gyrating videos.
I think people are tired of her lack of creativity, leotards and overexposure because the black media has this chick thinking she's Diana Ross and Tina Turner rolled into one. hahahaha Notice I didn't say ReRe...B doesn't have the pipes to touch that throne hahahahahaha That's JHud's title!

SAY WHAT? Girl, they need to ban this video! I only seen last night on Idol a few 10 seconds of the ending of the video? I missed the SO-CALLED "World Premiere"? Was this on Essence's website? Girl, you are funny lol :-) I just seen a lil clip on ET just now. Bey thinks that it's all about SEX, the dirty dancing, and dressin half naked to make it big in the Music Industry? I wish that she would GO AWAY! Bey is definitely OVERRATED TO THE MAXILLA! Bey is how old, still sportin those ridiculous leotards thinking she is back in Destiny Child days 11 years ago? Did you see Bey in "Stilettos" when she was dancing with the kids to her so-called fitness song? Bey don't give a damn about getting the youth fit? Who in their right mind would wear "Stilettos" while exercising? I bet that girl never owned a pair of tennis shoes in her life? Do you really think this kids are taking her serious? HELL NAW!
Bey would do ANYTHING just to promote this AWFUL MUSIC & VIDEO! Girl, Bey, Ri, and the others will be on the Billboard Awards this coming Sunday. What a HOT AZZ MESS this is going to be? SMH? Thanks for the update. Have a good day
PEACE!
