I hear Clint Eastwood is using his time with Leonardo DiCaprio on the J Edgar Hoover biopic to discuss the director's new Warner Bros project 'A Star Is Born'. Clint is hoping to team Leo with Beyoncé, who's already set for the musical. Clint is producing through Malpaso as well as helming the script by Will Fetters. Producers are Billy Gerber and Basil Iwanyk and Jon Peters (who made the infamous version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson). The project has been at WB for several years, and there'd been talk of pairing Beyoncé and Will Smith. But casting Leo as the male lead would make for a much more interesting movie.

Clint, are you SERIOUS and lost your MIND? Out of all the talented Black Actresse's out there, you had to pick Bey? This is WAY OUT of her league to be playing such a part with LEON? Leon, an talented, experienced, actor should have have declined on this one. Just like it was WAY OUT of her league playing Idris Elba's Wife in her last film. What a fine brotha he is, I would have been perfect for that part and played it WELL. :-) I would have just followed his lead. We all know, that Bey can't act? Look at the films she has done. Bey is not a NATURAL. I don't care how many acting lessons this woman has taken in the past, she can't ACT worth ISH.

Clint should have left this movie alone. You can't duplicate this one or any classic movie. This is an INSULT to have Beyonce play co-star.

I thought Beyonce did a good job in Cadillac Records as Etta James. She may grow in the acting arena, but she has a ways to go. I think a more talented actress should play with Dicaprio. What's going on with Beyonce these days she looks different...don't mean that in a good way.

The original with Judy Garland is my favorite but the one with Barbara is great, too. I am glad to see Jon Peters is on board! Leo is a better choice than Will Smith. Eastwood is a genius and this movie is going to be a hit.
I loved Leo Dicaprio in Shelter Island. That movie had an amazing twist towards the end. And he played Howard Hughes to a "T".

Jesus take the wheel! Beyonce and acting is just like oil and water. They don't mix. Beyonce is a talented singer and dancer. But, her acting is in the toilet. I smell a disaster. Leon deserves better.

I think this is just another " BODYGUARD" movie situation. Whitney Houston was a music sensation at the time so the director wanted her for his movie ( and so did Kevin Costner) So Beyonce is the Big thing in music right now so THEY JUST WANT HER !! If she can act OR NOT !!

You are correct about the Bodyguard thing. But, at least Whitney could act a little. She did a pretty decent job. But, Beyonce will stink that movie up with her non-acting.

The story is about HER not him. It would be a privledge for him to have to opportunity to be cast beside her. SHe is the STAR.
