The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the 2011 nominees for Primetime Emmys this morning. Idris Elba is finally nominated for an Emmy, as were Taraji P. Henson and Laurence Fishburne.
Yeah, HU Family Member, Taraji, you are the BEST! The men are not bad either. I love Idris Elba and never forget Fishburne. Best to all you do. God Blessings.
Well deserved props given to Taraji because she's one of the most under-rated actors of the 21st century. She was great in "Hustle and Flow" but I really enjoyed her performances in “I Can Do Bad All By Myself" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons." Her versatility is off the scales. I've seen her at an airport, and she wasn't wearing any make up. Taraji is just naturally pretty.
Laurence starred in one of my favorite movies of all time “Cornbread Earl and Me." The irony, Laurence is leaving CSI whilst he's at the top of his game. This fan will follow him no matter where he lands. I heard something about a scifi movie starring Laurence and Sanaa Latham (sp?)I hope that becomes a reality...not just rumor.
it's about time but seriously for what these actors were nominated for Im happy for all of them I think tiraji is for that lifetime movie right & fishbourne for CSI & Idris I clearly can't remember but am I close
WELL, WELL ,WELL FINALLY SOMEONE REALIZES WHAT GREAT ACTORS THESE THREE ARE. TARAJI IS MY GIRL EVER SINCE BABYBOY, AND LAURENCE SINCE APOLCOYPSE NOW. AND ELDRIS IS GREAT ON A&E'S "LUTHER" AMONG OTHER MOVIES. I HOPE THIS ISN'T JUST THE OBLIGATORY NOMINEE THING THE ACADEMY IS DOING, CAUSE WE ALL KNOW HOW THEY DO. GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS AND GOOD BLESS.
Congratulations to my former Howard U. student, Taraji P. Henson, who has grown and become one of the most versatile and finest actors in the business. Besides being a versatile actor, she's a humble young woman and a great mother. Much love to her.
Idris Elba is another good actor who turns in sterling performances in just about everything he does. All the best.
Following the career of Laurence Fishburne has been most rewarding. His has been a body of work that has been challenging and impressive. I especially enjoyed his portrayal of Thurgood Marshall, who I met and interviewed several times as a student in the mid-fifties for the Hampton Script. Fishburne captured the rich style and profound wit of the great civil rights attorney. Marshall would have been pleased with his performance.
