From Racialicious:
Is it more realistic to paint a world where interracial relationships don't matter at all, or one where race is just one of many issues? In most projects that make it to both the large and small screen race is either the largest issue for the couple being portrayed, or it isn't mentioned at all. Two new shows spent the summer season exploring the tangled world of race and relationships.

Sex in the City protrayed men to have more character flaws than women, so that's inaccurate. Single Ladies is much more realistic, because these are women who actually acknowledge that they're not perfect themselves, and they don't put unrealistic expectations on men that they don't live up to as women.

Not only does "Living Singles" showcase interracial relationships but SHOWCASES GAY RELATIONSHIPS. Let's not forget that. I don't have nothing against gay people but Latiffa crossed the line when she showed gays kissing and holding hands on her show. This was ALL IN YOUR FACE. This show is degrading and makes not only Black Woman look bad but ALL WOMAN! The show is TOO MUCH FOR TV! The shows is TOO RAUNCHY! This show in my opinion shows nothing but NEGATIVITY. I like Latiff and sorry she had to go this route just to get attention just like she did when she went on BV about her sexuality which we all knew she was gay.

No matter how you feel about it, It is the real world. If you have the perfect life and you never see gay people, interracial couples, women or men that sleep around or even married people that cheat. Yeah! you may think its too much.

We have either taken God out of our lives or accept God on our conditions, that he embraces any lifestyle, leading some to belives he accepts all of us as we are and his divine will is secondary to ours. God is not mocked.

I love this show! It is real life and very entertaining. America Grow Up!! Stop pretending to be prudish. Stop hating on others whose life styles are different than your own. It is not for anyone to judge another. We should allow everyone to just be who they want to be and live their life the way they want to live. Love is Love! Not love is color, religion, ethnicity, etc. I'm not Gay or Bi and I do not smoke or drink. I hope that I'm allowed to continue to live my life like this without someone telling me their is something wrong with me.

Love it and glad we finally have a BLACK sex in the city which I never watched nor want to. I get tired of most shows showing white girls the same old boring stuff. I'm glad this show is on for Season 2 and if you don't like it, don't watch it cause I sure don't watch boring sex in the city....

Well since black media loves Beyonce and it's well known Beyonce LOVED Sex in the City I guess you're in the minority (saw all the movies as well)!! I remember shopping in NYC with my girls (we live in MD) and the Destiny's Child video came on and my daughter said "Mom look they're imitating Sex in the City and you like this song!" It came on a HUGE screen in a store in Times Square. Sex in the City and Waiting to Exhale are two shows/movies LOVED by all my black female friends!!!! NO ONE has bragged on Single Ladies. mMybe the college educations have us jaded. LOL
