From the Associated Press:
Amy Winehouse hadn't released an album in four years, hadn't had a hit in just as long, and when she performed on stage, the headlines she usually drew were for atrocious performances. She was an addict who, like so many performers before her, let her talents fall prey to a drugged-up lifestyle.

It's sad to lose another musical genuis as Amy Winehouse. I did enjoy her music but when entertainers get caught up in drugs/alcohol scandals it is a temporary career that could end up as a heart break. My condolescence to her family. RIP Amy.

Wow...dead at 27 years old.
I was upset about this woman's death. Why?..
because she could flat out sing. I'm a sista, but I like different kinds of music.
Yeah, I know she was a hot mess, but she could really sing. She was a mess to look at, but if you closed your eyes and listened to her, you could tell, she could sing.
It's sad, because she had a gift from God, but never used it like she was suppose to.
When will these people stop it with the drugs?
She had enablers all around her. Nobody helped her. Everybody just took from her. It's always about the money.
How could you be on stage with her, knowing she was wasted and you just keep playing your instruments? How could her manager and the people around her just let her get on stage like that?
It's the money!!!
I remember when I first saw her, I was like, ewwwwww...but then I couldn't stop looking at her. Her hair was a mess, her clothes was a mess, that eye makeup, and those horrible tats. Ugh!!!..
Then I heard her voice and I was like, wow she can sing.
I only have Back to Black on my ipod and I love it. I couldn't do the "Rehab" song for obvious reasons, but Back to Black, yeah.
With some serious help and encouragement, and had she accepted some Jesus in her life, maybe she would still be here.
I hope she had an opportunity to call on the Lord before she left here. Prayers for her family, because it's too late her Amy Winehouse....Maybe she's at peace now. Fade to Black.

I'm angry at her so-called "support system". They were nothing more than enablers and leeches. Amy Winehouse posessed a rare and immense talent. There aren't many singers left that sing true soul music. She will be very much missed. I just hope that she is given the final bit of dignity and allowed to rest in peace with her God. RIP Amy, and go with God.

Same thing happened with Micheal Jackson and the others...people don't want to piss off the money-maker because then they win't get any money...only ones I have seen so far that have done anything was Brittney Spears parents...you have to show tough love!!!!!

R.I.P Amy Winehouse. She was so talented. Loved her sound. Thank you Amy for sharing your voice and music with us. Many blessings to your soul. I have no judgement on her addiction.
Clark, I will be sure and check out her god daughter Dionne.

Just like Micheal Jackson who just couldn't kick his drug habit. Just like him the leeches and users didn't do all they could to help her. RIP Amy. Gone to soon.

I have always compared Amy to Billie Holiday because they both were matchless artists who had that drug demon eternally locked in on them. Billie was taken by drugs, as Amy was. How many artists must we lose before we figure out a way to save these people?

I lived in the England with my daughters and we loved to go to the music stores. Artists are appreciated in England!!! I remember when my daughter told me I would love Amy because of her Motown sound (I think Val and Nick Ashford wrote for her). "Rehab" wasn't my favorite song. It was the one with the Supremes like intro (Amy is walking down street in video). RIP Amy. Adele will carry the talented British torch.
