Comedienne and actress Mo'Nique's late-night talk show, The Monique Show, has been canceled, according to her sidekick Rodney Perry. Sources close to Mo'Nique's camp say that Perry announced the news via text yesterday noting that the show will be on an "indefinite hiatus."
According to Rodney Ho of the Atlanta Journal's Radio & TV Talk Blog, BET confirmed the cancellation via email, stating that "The Mo'Nique Show will be on production hiatus beginning in the fall." ... Mo'Nique Hicks and The Mo'Nique Show are important to the BET Networks family and we look forward to continuing our relationship our with her."
Rumors have it that Monique and the execs could not come to a mutual agreement while others say the cancellation was due to low ratings. The show debuted in October 2009.

I expected it to end it's run sooner than this. The public is fickle. With so many choices and so many unfortunate choices, and with the message of love that Mo'Nique was offering, it's almost impossible to build and sustain audience for any great length of time. Tonight shows and Late Nights With...are stalwarts that middle of America won't let go of. 'almost like racial tension' Oops...

why don't you get off the racial crap and stop trying to shove it down Americas throat. Oprah made it and is forever at the top of the ratings.
It's just not right to keep on with this discrimination because of color just because someone is lousy which she was. End of story. Get over it. Stop using the race card.

I watched the show. It was boring and she was boring. The show did have some good guest though. Her show was way to gay slanted for me. Hopefully BET will seek more mainstream and straight guy talents like Stone & Digital Dave for a new show to fill her spot!

Are you forgetting Tavis Smiley?
Why you gotta place the race card here? Im a 50 year old white women who watches both Monique & Tavis Smiley's shows. Leno and Letterman's shows are drivel.
