Comedienne and actress Mo'Nique's late-night talk show, The Monique Show, has been canceled, according to her sidekick Rodney Perry. Sources close to Mo'Nique's camp say that Perry announced the news via text yesterday noting that the show will be on an "indefinite hiatus."
According to Rodney Ho of the Atlanta Journal's Radio & TV Talk Blog, BET confirmed the cancellation via email, stating that "The Mo'Nique Show will be on production hiatus beginning in the fall." ... Mo'Nique Hicks and The Mo'Nique Show are important to the BET Networks family and we look forward to continuing our relationship our with her."
Rumors have it that Monique and the execs could not come to a mutual agreement while others say the cancellation was due to low ratings. The show debuted in October 2009.

You know it's really interesting how people call names, and label others with negative connotations. Sounds like you are the bafoon, as Monique shared nothing but positive messages, support, and love to all who was/is on her show. What's your problem? It doesn't matter what your opinion is of her...she will still make it, in spite of your venomous spirit. Good job Monique! May the Lord continue to bless you REAL GOOD!

Monique has exposed me to popular, she's raised the bar for talented young African American people. She's so kind to her guess and very down to earth. I think that it's a mistake to cancel her show. Is it her complexion or what. You know we tend to be color struck across the board. Like Tavis. Anyway, I hope that the show goes on in the fall or I boycott the station.
Peace

I am so proud of Monique. She helped so many people of color who would have never gotten the opportunity. She will move forward with yet another brilliant transformation.

The problem is that blacks do not support fellow blacks. I am truly saddened by the rumored cancellation. The show had a great concept, exposing different African American talent that would have otherwise been swept under the rug by mainstream media. Bet is only putting out what is being demanded by the people. We are the blame. Instead of supporting BET when they create positive programming, we turn to VH1 to watch Basketball Trash. Monique is a positive black women with a great heart and I hope to see her in future endeavors.

The intent was good, but the show was not great. It need stronger production values and an agressive marketing effort which is a huge financial investment. Again, I think the intent was great, but many times I was bored.

I hope this is not true because I enjoy her show. I like the fact that she has a variety of people on and not just the same old people who happen to have a movie out. To the person who calls themself Thank God, you sure don't sound like God by your statements, and you are the bafoon. Just because you've forgotten what it's like to have fun and enjoy life, it doesn't mean everyone else has too.
