The last time this project and its cast were discussed here was back in November of last year at the old site; when Tambay reported Faith Evans would portray singer Florence Ballard in her big screen biopic. At the time, Taraji P. Henson was also rumored to have been offered the role of Diana Ross. Well now, it looks like both Evans and Henson are out of the picture.

It's about time someone represented Flo Ballard (Don't know where the "blondie" came from?) the FOUNDING member and creator of the Supremes.
Yes people, Florence Ballard put Diana Ross and Mary Wilson together to created the Primettes and later the Supremes. She knew Motown was making millions and demanded more for her group.
Such a beautiful women and the play and movie DreamGirls was based on Florence Ballard. Barry Gordy can never live this down. RIP FLO, a great singer and a truly lovely kind hearted women.

I agree with u 100%. Diana should be ashamed also when florence died she died broke living in a run-down project home. Diana never looked back to help her. Her daughters were left with out any money.

Wasn’t she the lead singer also? Then Berry picked Dianna bc he liked her better. I can’t wait to see this movie and hear Dianna’s reaction to the film.

Unfortunately, Florence Ballard was a product of her environment that she could not escape. She was her own worse enemy, and caused her own issues/problems.
Her children, has the same mind-set, and that is also unfortunate.

You are just a little mixed up. There actually was no "lead" singer at the begining of the group. They each took turns on lead vocal. I've heard some of their very first recordings and the ones Flo sung lead on were by far the best. Berry made Diane the lead because her voice has the most "crossover", appeal. Meaning the one white folks would like best.

Interesting selection, she is a GREAT actor.
Just do my favorite girl right, as for diana, we need tall slender, large eyes and diva attitude to play her. Fath, Taraji no, rest and wait. Solange is possible, Mary j maybe? We need more talent to come out and be seen. Even Yolanda could do it, she did sing jazz too.
