Hello everyone! We celebrated a big first week of 'Intimacy' album sales last week. When the final numbers were finally released, the album was #2 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart and was the top-selling album that debuted last week. I have to thank you again for your support of the project, and I hope you're enjoying the album!

Also...a shout out to all the fans in Columbus, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit and Philly...we had a great week on the Superfest. I really enjoying being back on the road and interacting with all of you...it's hard to believe there's only one week left on the tour.

The Columbus stop last week was actually just our show – not a part of the Superfest tour. Before the show, I visited Magic 98.9 – Columbus, Ohio's station for R&B and Classic Soul – and co-hosted the "KEM Intimacy Hour" with Warren Stevens. During the show we played some of my favorite classic soul songs including Anita Baker's 'Been So Long' – along with a few new songs from the 'Intimacy' album.

After the "KEM Intimacy Hour," Elizabeth, one of the station's listeners, came in the studio to meet me – she had won a contest for a meet & greet along with tickets to the show that night.

I need to start this week's blog by thanking all of you for purchasing the new album. Within hours of its release, 'Intimacy' took over the #1 spot on the iTunes Top R&B Albums chart and shot to #6 on the iTunes overall Top Albums chart. Also, the 'Why Would You Stay' single took over the #1 spot on the UAC Radio Chart! I couldn't do this without you, and I appreciate you more than I can say.

Last week was a busy one for us!

We spent the first half of the week in NYC celebrating the release of 'Intimacy' with Motown representatives, industry folks and media members. When we arrived in New York, we went to the Universal Motown offices to meet with Sylvia Rhone, Motown's president, Katina Bynum, who heads up marketing, and our other label reps. I also did a few interviews from their offices, including one with Tavis Smiley. As we were leaving, Katina showed me the packaged CD. It was my first time seeing it – and it was a great feeling to finally hold it in my hands.

We headed to Tillman's (one of New York's hotspots) that evening for the album release party. We played the new album for everyone and I had a chance to chat with Jamie Foster Brown from Sister 2 Sister and Beverly "Bevy" Smith, along with several other Motown execs and media members, who all were really excited about the new music and the potential of 'Intimacy.'

'Intimacy' - Album III Is Finally Here!

After five long years of crafting my third album (yes, I still call them albums), Tuesday, Aug. 17, (release day for 'Intimacy Album III') has finally arrived.

I am beyond excited for all of you to hear the new music, and I'm genuinely humbled by the support you've continued to bless me with over the years. For that, I can't thank you enough.

We had a great time on the West Coast leg of the Superfest Tour last week. The tour hit the Bay Area at Oakland's Sleep Train Pavilion on Friday night, and we played the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal Studios in L.A. on Saturday.

Hello everyone. This is KEM, and I have an incredible opportunity to connect with all of you through Blackvoices.com this month, as I've been given the opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences with you during the Budweiser Superfest tour.

We've just finished up the first leg of the tour, which included Cleveland, Washington, D.C., New York, and Virginia Beach over the weekend. When we kicked off the tour in Cleveland, I was nervous and excited about getting back on the road and sharing my new music. But that first show was great, and it was the perfect way to start the tour. The band had a lot of energy and the fans were interactive.
